During the past years Argentina has strongly increased prune production, having as a referential location the Mendoza province.

Cuased by the low local comsumption of prune, Argentina places itself as one of the largest producer and exporter of dried and dehydrated prunes. They are obtained from fresh plums wich later they go through a controlled drying process. Then, this product is industrially processed, tenderized and pitted.
